Genealogy

TIP 1:

Starting with yourself is one of the first steps in genealogy research. Begin by collecting your birth certificate, any family records, and interviewing close relatives for stories and details about your ancestry. Document important dates, places, and relationships to create a foundation for your family tree. This initial information will guide your further research and help you identify potential resources.

TiP 2:

Identify older family members with whom you would like to discuss your family history. They often have first-hand experiences and stories that provide valuable insights into your family's past.  Oftentimes their memories and perspectives can help fill in gaps and clarify details that might be missing from written records.

TiP 3:

In order to conduct genealogy research successfully, it is recommended that you develop a good recordkeeping system. It is important to maintain a good recordkeeping system so that you can remain organized and refer to your findings easily. It also reduces the risk of losing important documents and makes it easier to identify gaps in your research. A well-maintained record can also be invaluable for sharing information with family members as well as for collaborating with other genealogists.
